Status Updates From Poison

I haven't read this book since it came out in 2003, and wanted to see if the end was as interesting as I remembered. I got to the part where the unlikeable FMC kills and skins 2 dogs for no real reason (I feel pretty strongly she could have locked them in the cellar and still overcome the antagonist). I wanted to like Poison but that was so casually callous I'm not rooting for her to succeed.
