Status Updates From Ballet Shoes

I just can't get into this one, so I'm going to have to move it to gave up on or did not finish or whatever I'm calling that shelf here.

I remember reading "Skating Shoes" after seeing the Ice Capades at the Cincinnati Gardens when I was in grade school back in the 1950's and loving it. When I saw these books as a Kindle Limited Time Deal, I decided to try others in the series. I'm struggling to get into this one. As a retired reading specialist, I enjoy kiddy lit. So far, not enjoying this one. I hope it gets better.
