Status Updates From A Disturbance in One Place

This woman is so disgusting.

Honestly, I'm not even sure I'll finish this book.
So far the author has spent more effort in racial stereotypes, Freudian clichés, and a character that has obvious narcissistic and psychopathic tendencies than writing an actual storyline.
Seriously struggling....

Struggling. Main character prone to tedious self-analysis, a distasteful fixation on the differences between ethnicities -- her various lovers' foreignness, Italian-ness, immigrant-ness, Episcopalian-ness. Feels more dated than it should (pubbed in 2004). Sexually liberated woman whose "issue" is so painfully obvious, I'm only reading on to see if the author makes it something less pedestrian than it now appears.
