I am going to DNF this for now. These stories are excellently written. However, their excellence is at least partly as a result of a technique that I both generally don’t like and am especially not in the mood for these days: disorientation. Barron is a master at disorienting prose that becomes clearer on a second read but somehow remains disorienting. It’s quite well done. It’s just not well suited to my now.
