The age thing has been partly explained but I still don't see how his kids could have been conceived; he was born ~2207, and the older would have been conceived ~2250. And Del was on lyshriol minding the farm in 2227, in Schism. So the only way he could have been out of commission for 45 years straight is if his kids were conceived in vitro.

Interesting so far, but inconsistencies with the other books are driving me even battier than the ones in the (internal chronology) earlier books. Del can't possibly be younger than like 70, and he's (to his knowledge) the second-oldest surviving sibling in his family, but he keeps thinking of himself as the youngest member of his family and younger than everyone he's meeting. Does he have amnesia?

If I had to actually read this, I would quit. Since I am listening, I think I can get through it. Not my fave of the series, that's for sure.

I forgot how addictive her writing can be. I don't want to sleep until Del shows the world who he is.
