Hard not to judge Loretta Young harshly. Her claims that her months long affair with Clark Gable and the resulting pregnancy with Lewis were the result of date rape are hard to countenance.

Of course, a child born out of wedlock would have torpedoed her career, so she was stuck between a rock and a hard place. But…not a great mother, this woman. Poor Judy.
