(MAKING CONNECTIONS) Ameila Earthart as a young girl always had aspirations of flying from home made roller coasters to horses and later in her life to planes. I saw this connection when she first rode a horse, describing it as feeling big and powerful. I found this because on page 39 it says "Up here she felt so big and powerful, it made her laugh out loud."

(BACKGROUND) Amelia Earhart, raised by wealthy grandparents, was a brave daring girl at a young age showing this by building a wooden roller coaster in her backyard at age seven. In her first "flight" on the roller coaster, She crashed it and said it felt like "flying". I found this because on page 27 it says "they had to haul it back up again. But Millie want discouraged. "Did you see how it flew?" she exclaimed."

Predictions: I believe as I finish the book that we will learn about Amelia Earhart's last plane ride. In the book, we are getting farther into her life with each chapter, and one of the most significant parts of her life was her attempt to fly around the world and her disappearance during the ride. I think we are going to learn about what people thought of her disappearance and how her family coped with their loss.
