Okay, so I thought I knew who kidnapped Shayna & why, but given the second set of pictures left for Nick now I'm thinking I'm wrong, that my hunch was based on deliberate misdirection because they just seem too easy to suspect at this point...which means they're probably a red-herring, and it's this other person I was loathe to suspect instead.

I'm not sure I've mentioned it before but like Cordelia, James gets the LV details right...but more importantly they both get the feel of the city right - at least for the characters that live here. I've read other books set in town but those stories tend to focus on the casinos or the vacation/debauchery aspects of the place; it may be bright lights & fun on the Strip, but not so much everywhere else!

Sometimes I wonder why people into S&M would rather play at clubs than at home, even those who aren't into the exhibitionism & choose to use private rooms.

And then I remember that when anything happens where the police are called to a home, they are likely to do a thorough search & will find all the equipment & toys & I just cringe, dying a little inside for them because immediately they're now a suspect.

... And I fucking love this book for pissing me off so much I'm growling like an animal in the mall.
