Already loving this so much. Amazing how Chesterton can write a biography of Dickens and yet create an evocative description of the difference between Dickens' time and the modern view of life.

Wow, C. K. Chesterton goes deep when writing about Dickens as a person and a writer. For example, “Lies are told (in Dickens’ work) with exaggeration and flair and truths are told with modesty and restraint. Only modesty and restraint can save the character.”
