I’m actually in Venice as I am reading this book, and it has me constantly thinking about Armand. What would he think on a speedboat ride around Lido island? What would he think of the tourists? What would he think of the Italian language changing throughout his centuries away from the country?

This chapter was rough, but I’m always fascinated (pun intended) about Armand’s past.
