For context, the setting of this story is an abbey in Medieval France. All of the characters are monks/novices. Fine. Anyhow, I just read another review commenting that there are no women in this book, but that BOYS SOMETIMES NEED BOOKS JUST FOR BOYS WITH NO GIRLS. Ummm hello? Bro? You have like 90% of the Western canon where you don’t have to deal with pesky “women’s issues.” What an annoying take.
