Status Updates From Women and Gender in Islam

I’ve always had a hard time reconciling my feminist beliefs with how Islam is practiced. Some notes: Pre-Islamic Jahiliyyah society was the only place in the Mediterranean where women could walk freely and wear whatever they want. Sexual norms were even more permissive than today, with women having multiple male sexual partners (keep in mind, there were no contraceptives at this time).
