Status Updates From The Pearl

Good so far. Loving the atmosphere Steinbeck states. It feels like i’m on the boat with Kino himself.

I initially thought Steinbeck would take a Greek-mythology approach to the evil released by the pearl. Rather, I find that the evil is much more sinister— it is the latent evil that resides within human nature. I’m rooting for Kino and his family, but I’m very curious to see how their journey will end.
