Status Updates From Polaroids

In some of the series of shots, it's fun seeing the experimentation that was happening. All the little details that remain relatively constant, while the subject reveals something different in each subsequent photograph.

Something I didn't even think about when I picked this up: whenever the subject or surroundings feature still objects and visible backgrounds, the 70's nostalgia is alive and well.
An early favorite of the self-portrait of sorts is Plate 46: ghostly, amateur FU that makes me smile.

A healthy biography precedes the large collection of polaroids that come from the early years of M's life and work. The offered critiques feel a bit overdone, especially given I haven't experienced the images yet. It might have been better to somehow separate the bio and discussion. But I digress. This is about his work, not the accompanying text. Comparing these to his later work is fab journey.

First page: a quiet but impactful self-portrait. The honesty in his work is the top thing that's always drawn me to it.
