The Hero, Gerald, is a selfish jerk. Not quite halfway and he is tremendously unlikeable. A self centered, thoughtless clod. Priss is just...a sappy ridiculous heroine. I'm continuing on to see if things change.

Don’t mind me just crying reading another Balogh book.
Oh my god this book was perfect. Gerald has the most satisfying arc. I have laughed out loud so many times with this book. Gerard really is a dummy. But a lovable one.
And Priss! I love her! I like that that this book showed both the good parts and the dangers of sex work without a moral judgement.

Gerald really is not very smart but I’m loving his growth in this book. It’s so sweet.

Gerald is not the brightest and this book is an accounting of a man slowly piecing together a woman’s cognitive load. Priss is amazing and I’m loving reading a regency with a sex worker as an MC.

Ufff, el tema no es la primera vez que lo leo en Mary Balogh, supongo que en la época debió levantar ampollas, y por eso es más admirable, porque es difícil convertir esto en novela romántica.
