Status Updates From Fish

I love that the captain cares about his crew. He knows all of their names and their loves and personalities. From the best fighters to the lowliest swabs.

YEAH SAMMY. CHEESE IS THE BEST!!!

Fish is such a compassionate main character.
He understands the pirates’ loves and affections, and he wants to help everyone. He doesn’t want death or revenge, but he wants justice.
He is very loyal. He lives out the Creed. He is compassionate, helpful, honest, loyal, perseverant, pure, resourceful, respectful, responsible, and kinda reverent.

I really enjoyed this book. Fish’s not-fighting was so cool!

Ha! The double crossing! The questioning of loyalty! The plot!
This is a fantastic pirates book.

I also love the romance between Nate and Nora. No love triangles, just two devoted to each other. Like love should be.

YES. I LOVE THIS SMART SIDE OF FISH!!!

And Tenneford the Terrible is a pretty silly name. Captain Terror is much cooler.

I love that Fish was able to escape the Slippery Noodle!

This book is quickly becoming one of my more interesting reads of the month. The writing isn’t as good as some other books I’ve read before, there isn’t much character development. But its plot is very interesting and I just keep reading.

Okay, it was definitely either Daniel, Noah, or Scab outside the door.

How hard would it have been to take a minute to make sure Daniel felt assured? Not that hard. Yes, it’s important, but so is friendship. Trust on a pirate ship doesn’t come easy.

The Scurvy Mistress’ guns/cannons.

Meat Pie, Zucchini, Sausage 1 and 2 (don’t impress on the outside, but inside they have power),
Chocolate, Ham, Whiskey, Mutton

Why do I have a feeling Fish will need to know how to get free from knots later in this book??

The Slippery Noodle is probably going to be important. A knot that looks and feels impossible to untie, but is actually easy once you get good at it.

This pirates crew is the best. I really like the whole lot of them
