taking a break because this is so insufferable it’s literally making me hate reading

Even the publishers themselves couldn’t be bothered to read the books they published and instead reached for classics.

To be so honest, reading this book feels like when you were reading for English class in high school and even though you are truly reading it, you just know you’re still going to get a 3/5 on the reading quiz 😔

..novelsnow must move as smoothly as possible; there could bno friction.Names,places,culture&history must be removed in the name of soft edges,in order 2speed the reader along.The goal was4these books 2bsold in as many cities as possible in as many languages as possible.Consequently, everything that made our world distinct had 2b subtracted,wiped clean.Rendered like this,the stories told acquired a lazy universality.
