Status Updates From The Master Christian

This book is so engrossing. There's been one good man, a few good women, shameless clergy, political machinations, a duel to the death and now murder over a piece of art! Gripping is a good word for this book, I'm curious to how it will end!

As the good Cardinal progresses to Rome, seeing many clergy fallen from grace, there are side stories happening too. One pair whose lives mirrored each other, find themselves related - and mirrored in death also. This, so far, is a work to be savoured!

I'm surprised, given when this was written, how relevant it feels to the present day, also.
