Status Updates From Island

I've got to say, chapter 7 on 'family' structure in the island of Pala sounds quite remarkable towards a healthy society :D

It’s a 350 page philosophy treaty(?). That reads like what people may have thought utopia would be like in the 1960s. I disagree with some of his ideas that seem very dated. Also, his characters are very one dimensional. And the plot is practically nonexistent while the journalist lies in his hospital bed and people come in to talk/spew their philosophical beliefs. Or the way they live their lives in philosophy.

"أنا مش متخيل أبداً،" دكتور ماكفيل قال وهو بيمسك الشاش، "إنت إزاي عرفت تطلع الجبل ده بكل جروحك دي."

"ويل فارنابي" ضحك بصوت عالي من قلبه. البنت الصغيرة سقفت بإيديها وضحكت هي كمان. وبعد لحظة، العصفور اللي على كتفها شاركهم بضحكة شيطانية عالية، صوتها ملى المكان وردد بين الشجر، لدرجة إن الكون كله كأنه كان بيفرقع من الضحك على النكتة الكبيرة اللي اسمها "الوجود".

لقى نفسه متبت في فروع شجرة صغيرة، وشه متخربش، وركبته اليمين متبهدلة وبتنزف، بس لسه عايش. بصعوبة كمل تسلقه. ركبته كانت بتوجعه وجع لا يحتمل؛ بس فضل يتسلق. مكنش قدامه بديل تاني. وبعدين النور بدأ يروح. في الآخر كان بيتسلق في ضلمة شبه كاملة، بيتسلق بالإيمان، بيتسلق باليأس الصافي.
