The bowl was a pretty thing, the howel marks still visible in the pale, almost grain less wood. "That's tupelo," he said. "Only thing to make a bowl out of. My uncle, he's took to makin' 'em out of anything; juniper or sweet gum or maple. Me and him's had some discussions about that; we don't get on so good. Your tupelo won't never warp or check on you; them others will." ...and then to rub some cooking oil into it.
