this book is strange. struggle to pick it up, but once reading can’t put it down. susan makes the tension between characters feel tangible and knows how to describe a landscape beautifully

i like how you can feel arthur’s annoyance about superstitions and people not telling him what’s wrong with eel marsh

i love the imagery, it’s beautiful but i am struggling to keep picking it up.
