Now I know about "Bonehead" Merkle. Poor guy, for the simple step of not simply tagging 2nd base on that winning hit, he lived the rest of his life with that moniker.

Could you imagine blowing the World Series for your MLB team??!! I think that it would even be hard to cope with the fact that everybody knows that it was you who messed up the play, to the simplest pop fly, to the hardest grounder.
