Ben is the worst lawyer Josh could have to represent him. One moment he gives off the suggestion Josh is a client, the next he questions Josh’s innocence in front of a police officer.

He’s not supposed to say anything that may harm the defence of his client.

But why did they run from the police?

I don’t think they even knew the police was outside waiting for them. They just doubled back and went the other way.

Ben’s a lawyer, but is he contract law? Can’t be criminal law; he gives terrible legal advice. Or at least, he doesn’t seem to grasp the concept that the burden of proof lies with the police, not with whoever the police like to have a chat with.
