What “rights” did the southern states not want taken away that they started a war over??????????? I’ll give you one guess!!!

And remember, when an author has a main character in a book that was definitely a former slave owner, but the topic of slavery is never directly brought up or even referenced, just alluded to as “her plantation”, that is a deliberate choice on the authors point, and a cowardly choice imo!!!
