Thrilled to discover that Goodreads has the ability to indicate which edition/translation you’re reading, but goodness gracious is it clunky. I don’t think it would be worth it to try and shelve all my translations of Les Misérables (or The Brothers Karamazov, of which I actually have even more, oops). I’m so happy to finally hear about how Christine met the ghost, mixing her fathers death and The Angel of Music, which the ghost abuses her grief using this to gain her trust. We learn why she ignores Raoul and acts like she does not know him. All this time it’s like Christine has been longing for Raoul but something was holding her back, and it was the ghost.
