He becomes callous, hurtful, inconsiderate, accusatory in conversation, easily agitated at unexpected turn of events, apparently. Lots of damage/accidents happening here so far.

Dabbling in since my local history book club covered the French Revolution in their last selection and meeting, though it's volume 13. I think I will want to dabble more from this author's voluminous, prolific, easy writing in the future.
