Finished the most famous tale, The Knight of the Cart. Not sure what I was expecting, I thought there would be more “love triangle” aspects to the story, but it just seems to be Lancelot doing bad*ss things and he just so happens to be in love with Guinevere. This one feels less rich in imagery than the other tales, so I’m not quite sure what I was supposed to take away from this story.

my obsession with Lancelot should be studied by a team of professionals because I can't find ANYTHING reasonable about it

Finished Cligés! Not quite sure how I feel about it, the sequence where Fenice fakes her death was pretty fun, but I feel like I’m missing the point/commentary of the story. Apparently it’s a critic of Tristan legend; tales of “forbidden love”, which I’ve never read. I understood it as adultery only matters when a marriage is based on real love. If love is absent, the spouse was never ‘truly yours’
