The suicide issues was beautifully done. It hurt and made me angry and sad but that’s part of what made it good. If a story can’t evoke strong emotions the writing needs improvement. The specials felt a little out of pocket. They didn’t really feel connected to the main New Mutants story line. 7/10

The New Mutants going after Empath was great! But I think Sunspot is slipping more and more into the “dark side”. I liked the two editions where we got to see the co-leaders trying to figure themselves out. They may be the oldest but they’re still just kids.
