Status Updates From Green Lantern: Sleepers (Bo...

Well, we're at the end, and the series continues to not wow me. It's not bad (aside from messing with these established characters), but everything it does well is done better elsewhere. Like many Green Lantern stories, I'm intrigued by the concept, but let down by the execution. Still, I finally have one good thing to say about the GraphicAudio format: some of the music is actually pretty good.

Two observations.
1. Some of the questions of the previous books are being answered, but with clumsy exposition rather than clever nonlinear plotting.
2. The book has some cool moments... but they’re the type of thing that would be done better later by The Sinestro Corps War and Blackest Night. And that’s coming from someone who doesn’t particularly like either story.

So this book describes Hal Jordan as a “chivalrous Boy Scout.” That is so far removed from every version of the Green Lantern I have ever seen before, it’s almost funny. In case you needed one more reason this series has nothing to do with the actual continuity.

Time to finish the trilogy! Will this answer the questions and explain the inconsistencies in the other two? I don’t know, but at least the voice actors are as goofy as ever.
