The pictures, illustrations, photos, and the "extra boxes" in each chapter are so enlightening. This book can't be thoroughly enjoyed in one or two borrowings. There is so much information on the pages, that it would take months, to really do the research put into the book, any justice.

The historical aspect of how cities began and evolved is very interesting.

I was hoping there would be more illustrations and photographs. This can be a very dry read for the layman. I found many portions interesting, others not.
