Status Updates From Tokyo Mew Mew Omnibus, Vol. 1

I don't think I'll read more of the manga as Ikumi's style doesn't completely do it for me. The quick pacing also lends itself better for the original anime, especially since Ichigo's relationship with Aoyama builds gradually (although still with possessive undertones that are not for me). Not a bad start, though. The basis and heart for creating a fun magical girl story is here.

TBD on what I'll read after this, but after vicariously living through seeing my library's former Tokyopop copies of this series (which they haven't replaced), reading a la Mode, and watching the anime, coming full circle now feels best even if there are aspects of this I think might play out better in the reboot.
