Definitely a Christian ghost story, and has plenty of both so far (not preachy, but decidedly Christian nonetheless). Interested to see how the two work together by the end.

Really odd choice reading this right after Kindred with the plantation and constant references to the antebellum south. Completely unrelated to slavery so far, but still, kinda affects the way I'm reading this a bit.
