I’m reading this book on a perfect summer day. Donald Hall’s eloquent description for his home makes me appreciate my own sense of place more deeply. (I’ll ignore Hall’s claim that Michigan’s fall tree color is less brilliant than New Hampshire’s. The northern peninsula can prove its own brilliance.)
