the writing is evocative and almost intoxicating. I had to read this over a few weeks (not because I didn't want to read it, but because life kept interfering) and each time I sat down with it, the writing style just captured me. It was like drinking fine wine and having to savour it. Loved the story. Clever and fluid plotting, but the characters were the real strength. I 'felt' for each one of them
