The Edge of the Map by Ian Creasey. This is one of those exploration of uncharted Earth adventure stories, thinly veiled in a couple of modern science fiction ideas. It is much more just an adventure story, and in my opinion, somewhat of a mediocre one at that.

The Pevatron Rats by Stephen Baxter. I have not read Stephen Baxter before, but the introduction states that he is essentially the successor to Arthur C. Clarke, so perhaps I ought to. This one was okay, a strange one about time traveling rats that took an unexpected turn or two. It has a more modern tone and style that Clarke, so I am not seeing the similarity just based on this work.

Out of the Sun by Arthur C. Clarke. A brief story from my favorite classic science fiction author. This is purely an idea story, one that asks us to question our definition of "life" and what qualifies, something that has probably never been more relevant right now with the prevalence of artificial intelligence.
