Chapters 4,5, and 6 delivers the most useful tips so far - Chapter 4 is about productivity with rules about deadlines, prioritized do-to lists, good hardware, time to focus and communication / responsibility clarity. Chapter 5 is about increasing software complexity and avoiding over-engineering traps. Chapter 6 is about how teaching is so different from actual programming and how to be a better teacher, instead.

Read the first 3 chapters - this book is a collection of essays grouped by an unified theme at each chapter - and it provides relevant insights into a programmer's life - some of which I had before but never had them written down - so, in a sense, this book is about relearning fast, and condensed what I've learnt in so many years of working as a programmer. The motivation chapter is, so far, the best.
