Lynas posits that humans and the environment are all part of same system; i.e. we’re natural. Because of our disproportionate impact on the environment, he terms us a “God species”—a species with an impact so powerful we functionally control the planet. Lynas encourages his readers not to shy away from this label, but to embrace it with an aim of environmental stewardship. So far, I’m enjoying this read!
