Desperately doing the math on her age: he said her brothers would not have let her get married at eighteen and she’s waited four years for him — so if I’m being optimistic, she was seventeen when he left for war or whatever, and two years he’d been asking to marry her — fifteen. That’s not unheard of, I guess… but 17+4=21 okay okay she may be 21. Maybe… this is integral to my reading experience

Read literally one more line and she’s apparently a “small twelve”. She is in her 20s and she’s smaller than a 12 year old?! That manhood of his better be suitably small or she’s going to die.

Am I really supposed to believe that this full grown woman can convincingly pass as a 12 year old boy? She was even saying she could pass for 9 a few chapters ago. Is she truly so petite and tiny? So itty bitty? Or are little boys just massive in this world?
