The plan: cook 1-2 meals from The Family Meal/week.
1st Meal: Fried Eggs with Asparagus turned out beautifully! Would make a great breakfast!
Chicken Wings with Mushrooms: heat too high; will remake with lower heat, but otherwise turned out well.
Sangria: forgot the mint; guest thought was too citrusy. Will reserve mañana with mint.
So far, book gets 5 stars *****

Great page of tips for getting multiple uses out of ingredients. Many may not be ones commonly made by Americans, but maybe the notion of saving money by not wasting will help people feel more bold about trying the recipes.
For instance, do you drink almond milk? Why not try making your own and use the almond pulp in ice cream or garlic and almond soup (ajo blanco)?

Lots of great simple desserts or 'finish ups' using combos of ingredients that are simple or I know I would not have thought of in a long time! Plus new cookie recipes!! I am not sure what page as my deluxe version of this doesn't match up with either of the versions listed.
