It was very good and refreshing how much they loved nd trusted each other vut then it got to a point where it was siccckkkklyyy sweeet and exaggerated! Ok we get that they get each other and understand what goes on in both their minds but that is too much! It went from a solid 5 to a 4 and then 3.5

The writing is really good thu it tends to go too much imaginative . The first quarter was almost a monologue but a brilliant one and one i didnt get bored woth and felt no hurry to end and get to the convos!

So weird, unique and simply AMAZING! I dont have the words to describe it! The bashing was sooo brutal i felt it.. The recovery was so hard .. The love btw them was just toooooo good and pure and loyal and understanding.. The way steve didnt feel sorrt for danniel staying with him the way he thinks it's natural that he is beside him, the way he fought to get back alive just for him. An epic tale of true love !

I'm kind of wondering what more will happen. I'm not even halftime through and hope the story doesn't drag on (not that it has at this point). So far, lots of emotional hurt and comfort. More of a recovery story after a near death experience sprinkled with a sweet romance.

The writing in this book is very congested, which means I have to take a breath (or two) just to finish a sentence. But I'm really liking Steve and the progression of the story is very enticing.

As a professional designer i am pointing out that you never bring new furniture into a house that still has workmen in it. Only when it is spotless do you furnish it. Small niggle.

Steve's testimony at trial has just ended. I am not familiar with the British system, but in the USA the prosecution would have not let the defending lawyer get away with asking the questions in the manner he did. And the prosecuting attorney would have redirected any slander that did get thru. Seems a little one sided, but then I don't know British law.

What an amazing chapter about brain damage and the will to relearn how to read, starting with your lover's name!

Wow, this book has knocked me off my feet. The brutalizing scene is sickening but written so I can't stop reading. What an amazing description of fighting for consciousness from almost death back to life. What a beautiful couple they are.

This is one tough book to read. I'm not sure I have what it takes to finish it.

I'm glad to be re-reading this powerful story. It is not a light read. The author does a great job at capturing that floaty, other-world feeling that gets generated in the ICU. The author is still working on her craft- sure. The story is still a fine one. Unique. Powerful.
