I've wanted to read this for yonks and finally got a hold of a copy!!! Out of print for a while now, so yay!!

Highly readable and engaging. Greatly enjoyed the discussion of the Roman Empire's technology -- where they excelled, where they failed, and what that meant for emerging medieval Europe.
