this book is neat, but it's also sugar coating a lot of brutal history which is less neat. but! i made a celtic folk connection to something in jane eyre that i had wondered about while reading it, so that's something.

"It is more rewarding to be true to yourself and your calling than to chase the short-term benefits offered by conformity."

I like their appreciation of words and books. Passing sacred knowledge, stories and myths along orally is special for many reasons. It brings people together in this form of fun learning and prevents all that's shared to not be lost for future generations. n

"If you are normally scruffy or understated, for one day dress flamboyantly. Do people treat you differently? Do you feel differently about yourself? Which elements of your new image do you intend to keep?" Thoughts to ponder further.

Instead of 11:11 sightings, I see more beauty in looking at the full moon's reflection. No thank you on promoting fertility, not interested. My "lunar consciousness"... I thought immediately about period cycle. The imagery of shooting stars being souls returning to Earth to be reborn is lovely to think about.

I'm starting to see that the instructions could be fun activities for kids, like crafting a wand. Anyway, I must halt reading at the moment because I'm heavily distracted by what will become of a phone call I'll be having soon today. My friendship circle will become clear by today, I'm guessing. What else can I lose? Already went fully-friendless at one point.

My gosh, that shapeshifting story made me cringe. The power of three... Things happen or come in threes occurs a lot in all mediums. What a peculiar view regarding the wise child: "when a child is born it knows everything and spends the rest of its life forgetting." Since I got my phone, I'm repeatedly told to have my phone with me when I go out or my family won't be able to contact me.

"Salmon of knowledge-" I ate salmon the previous dinner I had. I sure am finding connections from my experiences in this book. I don't find it wise to search for and follow random animals or people to be led to the Otherworld. Otherworld journal? What?

Druids had so many requirements to their role. Bards and poet-seers were talented too. I think I need to become well-aquainted with which tree looks like what so I can identify them when I spot trees. I like how highly-regarded historians and writers are considered - they record many important information for generations to learn from the past.
