In the introduction, the many times the author says "blacks this and blacks that" just does not sit right with me. I guess I'd prefer him to say "black people" or "African-American" over saying "the blacks". I don't like it

Well the statistics and facts regarding AA elected representatives at any level of American governance is most certainly depressing, especially when presented in one chapter, but also reminds me again of the emotional and historical power of Obama's election and the inauguration itself.
