"الطيف غالباً ما يبدو حقيقياً أكثر من الجسد" مقارنة "ليلة شتوية" بالنص الانجليزي تبيّن أن أدونيس اعتمد الترجمة الحرفية. الأرجح أنه لمعرفته الشخصية ب"ترانسترومر" وعده بعدم الانزياح عن المعنى و الوفاء للعبارة الأصل، على أن ايلاء الشكل الأولوية دون هامش تأويلي في النقل ينتج عنها أسطر تبدو غير بليغة في التركيب، مبتورة، كأنها تليغرافية..تبقى أفضل من ترجمة "علي كنانة" الذي للمفارقة ترجمها عن السويدية، لا عن لغة وسيطة.
