Status Updates From MISTERO A MATERA

It’s getting somewhere.. she’s now on her third trip back to Italy. This time she has a plan! I’m intrigued to see where this goes. Extremely worried mother.

Im enjoying the book so far. Following along her journey, she hasn’t found anything just yet about Veta but that’s soon about to change. She started broadening her search and have now found Veta’s birthd certificate with the help of two historians. Let’s see where this goes!

This is the opposite of an Erik Larson narrative history lol. I feel like the author needed to make the fictionalized part of the history more apparent. It was disappointing to know none of the history she presented was borne out by her research. It’s fine to imagine and romanticize but that should’ve been made more clear in a nonfiction.
