Ugh everyone around Marilee and Zach keeps telling them to get married and “wouldn’t it be nice” or it’s “a shame you haven’t met anyone.” How annoying.

'He makes my nose itch,' said the cougar, rubbing a finger under her nose. 'I hope you're not going to have him for long.' Ambrose narrowed his eyes, 'We'll see who stays around the longest, baby.'"

"'Tom.' Ambrose cringed at the mention of his pathetic new name." I was thinking the same thing it's not as cute as Ambrose.

Wow Ambrose noticed that Zack doesn't call his mom but she always calls him.

Ambrose "human babies took forever to grow into children"

Ambrose wishes to save Zack because Zack saved Ambrose from a car wreck one time.

People anger me acting like marriage is something that "happens" to them not something they choose. But I suppose if they were raised to think it was something they were supposed to do it was.

Marilee doesn't know if she wants a boyfriend because she really does want one or because everyone keeps telling her she wants one. Very annoying situation.

"So what if she didn't have a man? Did a woman need a man to be happy? Some little voice at the back of her mind whispered, 'No, but it sure helps.'" Which makes me sad too because she's caught in a headspace of does she want a boyfriend to make her feel accepted/validate her experience or does she want a boyfriend because she wants a boyfriend–someone that loves her & she loves.

So basically Marilee White likely has used her smarts and love for animals as ways to validate herself. She grew up very quiet. Also has some body dysmorphia. I feel for her and I hate that she has this mindset. That makes her feel like an ugly duckling.

Okay so the redhead girl is a woman that feels overshadowed by her siblings. Older brothers 1) actor 2) successful business dude+wife & kids 3) sister a successful fashion diva 4) friendly happy go lucky blondie. Main character had to drop out of vet school and she worked at the pet store and volunteered at the animal shelter. She also described herself as growing up fat and all the mental tolls that come with it.

Okay so the sisters are very PICK ME
Oldest one is a fabulous fashion diva (but she dresses for the male gaze it appears...)
Youngest is a "bubbly blonde" idk what that means.

So she's a cute redhead and Zack is a blonde "viking" with blonde hair and a crooked nose.

Zack is really irritating me. With this "nice girl" vs. "naughty girl" BS women...can be both bruh!?
