i think i only noted it the first time reading bc it was just so sudden in this type of genre and setting

on top of the shitty writing that added to the shit plot
at the same time taking me the fuck out of the story with how poorly this regency trope was done

i cant even rn

i have more to rant about this stupid ass book but id rather forget it all asap

the mmc was written to have a past as kind of a manwhore
of his time
but seriously
i hate reading shit like that
esp in a supposed fucking romance book
nothing about him was interesting or likeable

same with the fmc
who was and is a fucking bore
so they deserve each other ig

the proclamations of love so soon was unbelievable
the lust even more so
i did not enjoy the smut this time around

i hated all the other little side characters
besides christian-the shy clockmaker bestfriend of the mmc
and the mmc of the next book i think

violet the sister of mmc was fine if stupid at first
but she got better after she finally got to punch someone

that other woman
the mmcs mistress(ex)
was a fucking weasel and a half and she didnt get the beat down she deserves

i apparently rated this book two stars the first time around
ill be changing it to one star

and he was BARELY in it
save for some snarky remarks and behaviors i appreciated
let the man smack a bitch

^especially when he’s thinking of them as being more beautiful and cultured than this fmc

the quick skin ship between them

ruins the whole regency vibe

i cant stand this fmc
nor her/the
typical denial and realization of being stranded in the past
esp when theyre fucking stupid about it all

her low opinion of her own family already sours the next two books of theirs

just so i can finally finish the damn series thats been sitting in my digital library

i dont like it so far

not the fmcs pathetic little life she constantly whines about
and not the mmc repeatedly thinking of other woman
his past lovers or other woman drama to come i dont recall

i dont want to read about an mmc comparing the fmc to his past fuck buddies

There are a lot of issues with this story. I’m 77% in so I feel like I have to finish

I don’t expect time travel romances to be historically precise, but there are so many etiquette breaches. It’s hard to take the book seriously.. I expected from the character coming from the future, but so many of the characters in the past have thrown out basic etiquette
