Status Updates From Writing Archetypal Characte...

There is SO MUCH abstract language that I can only read it in small chunks. (I’m tempted to dnf/call what I’ve read good enough and mark it read, but I think I just need to set it down for today and finish the last bit tomorrow…)

I’m thinking that “too philosophical” is a decent description of how I’m feeling. It feels like I’m inadvertently getting told what a irl person’s progression in life should look like, and maybe it’s accurate, but it’s not what I came for when I picked up the book

This book is… more philosophical than I wanted, maybe? Something mildly frustrates me about it but I still can’t explain what exactly.

I have mixed feelings because like… this is genuinely useful, but I’m also not going to be using it for a while/who knows if or when I’ll use all the parts of the book, and there’s so much terminology to keep track of. 😅

(Also goodreads’ percentage estimate is way off because 189/368 pages is not 66%)

Getting through all the shadow archetypes will take more time because I haven’t skimmed this part before and there’s a LOT of information

Hehehe Quinn is 100% a Crone and I love the descriptions because they’re so accurate

I think Sheeran is a Queen archetype… some of the King descriptions resonate but overall they don’t fit quite as well as the Queen descriptions

It’s interesting though because Kiana is not the primary MC which is probably why the beats don’t seem to all line up perfectly

Yay for refusal of the call and the hero being special somehow and an external antagonist related to the status quo (*coughs in this is all Kiana*)

Kiana is definitely more of a hero archetype because maiden was not fitting nearly as well
