Delusions for a dragon slayer: what if when you died heaven was actually a Frank Frazetta painting? What if that heaven is actually just a reflection of your base desires? Now you know how rotten your soul truly is
Ellison is an intense writer. I love how the last two stories have dealt with sin and moral corruption

Lonelyache: my favorite one so far. Ellison is pulling from personal feelings of insecurity from his own divorce and you can tell. The main character is deplorable, haunted by his own sin, unable to escape. Kinda awesome! Would love to see an adaptation of this, something I couldn’t say about the other stories

Eyes of dust: felt constrained by the limitations of the short story format, but at the same time I can’t really see this being fleshed out that much more with this exact tone. Ellison is darkly funny

I have no mouth and I must scream: Ellison is a visceral author who channels all of that into one of the bleakest stories I’ve read
