Effie.. How do you get forced into not only one marriage but TWO?! Your family are HORRIBLE people and suck! I she has no sway or power with her family, but she’s not really standing up to them until now. Sigh… I don’t dislike her but one moment she’s standing up to Fin about something and the next she is getting bossed around by her dad who is supposed to be “less powerful” than the Fox family..

What’s going on with the power dynamic? Does Fin have no power at all? In the previous book his brother made it seem like they were really rich and powerful. But Fin… He is just taking punches and hardly doing anything. How do you let them kidnap you if you’re one of the most powerful families in the city? I get that it helps with the plot and stuff, but I could have seen that coming from a mile away.
