BORING!!! Pushing through, trying to finish but struggling

Effie.. How do you get forced into not only one marriage but TWO?! Your family are HORRIBLE people and suck! What’s going on with the power dynamic? Does Fin have no power at all? In the previous book his brother made it seem like they were really rich and powerful. But Fin… He is just taking punches and hardly doing anything. How do you let them kidnap you if you’re one of the most powerful families in the city? I get that it helps with the plot and stuff, but I could have seen that coming from a mile away.
